Full Day Zazenkai January 28

Saturday, January 28 is our quarterly Full-day Zazenkai led by Al Fontova at the Church of the Epiphany from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Zazenkais at the Church of the Epiphany provide us with a quiet environment to sit, without the distractions and parking problems that are present at Little Five Points on Saturdays. Participants may come and go as necessary. Activities will include 30-minute sitting periods, a Dharma talk at 11:00 a.m. and time for lunch. ZenSpace will provide tea and juice, but not lunches, so please bring your own.

We need one volunteer to help Al set up Saturday morning and two volunteers to help take down Saturday afternoon. Also, we need someone to assume timekeeping responsibilities from 1:30 to 5 p.m. When we have the rest of the schedule and leadership worked out, we'll send out another email later this month.

Zazen Practice and Instruction

Zazen or "sitting meditation" periods currently take place five times a week, as listed on schedule below.

Newcomers meditation instruction is offered every Monday evening at 7PM.

For those unable to make the Monday session, newcomers sessions can be scheduled for Sunday mornings by appointment only at 8AM. Email scheduling@zenspace.org to set up a Sunday morning newcomers' session.

You are free to come or go at your convenience during meditation periods. We ask only that you try to quietly enter or exit the sessions on the half hour.
