Prison Outreach Visitations
We now maintain a regular
schedule of meditation at several state prisons within two hours' driving distance from Atlanta. We have found meditating with inmates extremely helpful
both to the inmates' practice as well as to our own.
We would welcome others interested in participation in prison outreach. Prerequisites include at least one years' experience in Buddhist meditation practice, and volunteer certification by the prison system. At present we have three active, certified volunteers.
Anyone interested can be put in touch with participants in order to discuss the program. Additionally, those with a serious interest may accompany current participants during visits to the prisons, in order to provide a first hand experience from which to base any further commitment. Click here to send an email, if you would like to correspond with us regarding this service opportunity.
