People learn to meditate
for many different reasons such as:
to improve one's performance
in a sport
to improve one's health
for calming one's mind, or
to help in one's spiritual development
If you would like to learn
about different aspects of meditation you are welcome to come to one
of our newcomer sessions. Those interested in Meditation, Zen Buddhism
and Buddhism in general are encouraged to attend a newcomer session
and a Sunday discussion about an aspect of Meditation practice.
The Zen Practice tab at the
top of the page will lead you to information about the different aspects
of meditation practice.
Instruction periods are offered
Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM and most Sundays at 11:00 AM after the
discussion. [Please note there will be no instruction on October 16
or December 18.] After entering please take off your shoes and place
them in the rack. Then introduce yourself to the person sitting by the
inner door and express your particular interest in Zen Meditation.
